Forest Wildlife Park Hiking Tour

Overview

This self-guided hiking tour is a great way for families to connect with nature as well as each other. The tour kicks off at 11:00 am at the Chalet Chiara restaurant in Hofstetten. The restaurant has free parking but the number 151 public bus is also a good option and gets you within walking distance.

Parents can enjoy coffee and croissants while smaller explorers can look forward to their hiking package. When you’re ready to get going, the trail will lead you through one of Switzerland’s vibrant and shady forests, with meadows and open spaces to play around in and enjoy the sweeping views of Lake Brienz.

The highlight of the trip comes after the hike: The Brienz Wildlife Park, home to a variety of species including owls, red deer, chamois, marmots and ibe. You can use the feeding coin provided in your tour package to get up close to the animals and feed them.

Then, stroll through the historic old-town of Brienz to the famous Brunngasse – voted one of the most beautiful streets in the world by Architectural Digest magazine and the perfect place for a family photo. The Quaiweg path takes you along the lake to the Brienz train station, where the 151 bus will take you back to your starting point in just a few minutes.
